San Francisco Stage & Film is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote cross-cultural communication. We produce a staged play reading festival of new works every fall and a film festival each spring. We encourage works that are written, directed or produced by under-represented communities.
Each year we present two festivals; The Absolute Time Play and Film Festivals. The play festival presents staged readings of two new plays that are by or about under-represented communities. The film festival screens shorts, docs, animated and feature films from all over the world for two nights in the spring.
In 2007, San Francisco Stage & Film launches our Playwright in Virtual Residence program. We will select one playwright who will work with us throughout the year to develop a new work for the stage. The residency culminates with a staged reading of the new work at year’s end. For more information on this program please go to the Virtual Residence page. |
